on Rent-ing

I just watched the movie adaptation of Rent, the musical. A lot of people who’d seen it trashed it, saying it was a poorly made film, but I think they said so because they compared it to the musical itself. As a movie, though, I think it rocked. Majorly, absolutely rocked. It made me laugh, sing along, cry buckets, and heave teary sighs of absolute relief. It was a total film, and effective in its message, which isn’t the point of the film, in itself, but that made it even better, because it made me think, it made me react, and in the end, made me feel extremely glad I watched it. Thanks to all the people who had a hand in bringing it to the screen, because I loved it.
