Behind the Reader's Eyes: Sandy's Own Space

Friday, June 30

things i am thankful for:

1. my husband
2. the fact that my 5-year-old nephew Phoenix is okay (he had a bad bout of dengue, poor kid)
3. the rest of my family (a more crazy, individual & loveable bunch you couldn't find anywhere else!)
4. the internet
5. my sense of humor
6. the fact my "job" isn't a job, and i still love it, and i still grow from it (how could i NOT???)
7. free text-based online computer games (to wit: Legend Arena, Monsters Game, Zeus' Legacy, Crimson Moon etcetera... there are others out there... i'll get to them, i'm sure!)
8. role-playing games!!! though i haven't played in a long while, everytime i'm in Baguio, there's sure to be one (Clyde, Jenny, & myself notwithstanding)
9. my uber-unusual relationship with my own best female friend, Jen, who, despite the years that pass between conversations, always gets back to the point of togetherness, camaraderie, and unconditional loving between 2 of the most extreme people in this entire earth.
10. my kakikayan, and the fact my husband has the patience to withstand it!
11. thrift-store shopping!
12. garage sale stalking!
13. blogspot.com
14. the Brew Crew: Susan, Tony & Ed
15. my Sony Ericsson P900, without which my stress levels would have skyrocketed to a chaotic high. People, get a dutdut-baby for yourselves if your schedules are as hectic as mine! it'll change your lives!
16. my ever-growing (in quality & quantity) circle of friends
17. the fact i'm 36, gorgeous, and absolutely in a life that, if it ended right now, i still would say was worth it to the very end. needless to say, it ain't over yet!
18. my voracious need for knowledge, which at this point (because of the computer, internet connection bills, and growing collection of printed literature) has led me to near-penury, but do i mind that? natch, double-natch, and a dollop of chocolate-fudge topping over that, please!
19. my love for dragons, fairies, unicorns, anything of a mystical, mythological, or fantastic nature, which at this point, being 36 years of age, has not waned one little bit. it's very important to keep yourself grounded in (the ephemeral, oft-elusive world of) innocence.
20. my ever-growing bag collection
21. my ever-growing downloaded collection of music, movies, documentaries, short videos & books
(i'm a 21st century pirate, without doubt!)
22. my colorful past (gasp!), and the fact it gives me many giddy-giggled moments of reminiscing
23. the fact we can pay our bills on time
23. my desktop chimes, made of bamboo & thin light-metal pipes, that i got for P20 at a garage sale
(one of the more unusual ones i went to: it was on the rooftop of a 20+ floor condominium!)
24. my uber-colorful chandelier
25. my gift for making a house a pretty, warm & inviting home
26. my husband's patience for my kirtschy decorating whims

***. the fact i'll keep on adding to this as time passes!
