gambit: the unvoiced plea

~
Catch me, the comet’s falling
And as I flail, your eyes are calling,
Prohibitions, natural tendencies
Victorian-era inhibitions be damned.
Brown-eyed wonders invade my sleep,
Sentimental drivel be hanged.
So here we are in mutual disrespect of tradition,
Quaking limbs with thoughts of pleasures much denied,
And as I strive for normalcy I falter,
Yet try again, to say I tried.
For shame!, actions traitorously belie my soul
Yet blithelessly I push on anyway,
As Prometheus’ claim of Olympus’ fire was undenied,
So my emotions, joyfully, go unbetrayed.
Dear friend, and closest rival to heaven,
Watch me groping blindly as I bleed
for heart’s-ease balm, to tame my rage emotions,
Bless me now, and satiate my need.
